I have to say that today has been one of the hardest days at work. The family is the only thing I am thinking about right now. I miss them so much and I hope I'll be back before the holidays. I really need to withstand these working days here, even though i hate it. More and more people die every day, because of the dangers that all of us face. Everyday at work I have to fear for my life and wait to see if something unexpected will happen. The truth is that I feel really lucky to have great health while my coworkers have yellow fever and malaria. Everyday before I go to bed I pray to God for my life, family, and health so that I can be able to go back home to my son and daughter. Trying to get away from those mosquitoes and other species that carry malaria is sort of impossible. If I do get stung I could die in seconds, I really don't want that I have a beautiful family back at home. The violence that goes on around these place while building is extremely dangerous. I wish that everybody could live in a calm and safe place. I pray to God once again to keep me alive so i could keep writing this journal and so that my children can see me alive. If I live, I at least could pass the story that I helped with and survived the building of the Panama Canal.

Imperialism in Toy Story 3!!!
Toy Story 3 is by far one of my favorite movies of all time. Not only is it the best animated movie I have seen, but it also shows imperialism. Throughout the movie and even in the first two movies we experience that power that Woody has over the group of toys. The leadership that takes in place when he calls for a meeting, and they all take for granted that he knows what is right and wrong. When in the movie Woody wants Andy to play with them that he calls his cell phone so that ONLY!!! Woody could hear his voice. Even though everything doesn't always come out right for Woody, he always tries to calm the situation down. As went coming out of the box he says that everything will be fine and that Andy will love them forever. Woody somehow overpowers that whole room when standing on top of the table that Andy has there. Though Buzz goes up to him and ask him that if he is sure that Andy will put them in the attic. Woody is not sure but he tries to make the best out of his last few days in Andy's room. When Andy put the rest of his toys except for Woody in the bag. Woody watched the bag as Andy was going to put in the attic, but he doesn't put it because he sees his sister carrying a box of toys that she will donate to Sunnyside Daycare. So Andy helps her out with carrying the boxes because she is having difficulty. His mom passes by, trips over it and thinks that its the garbage bag. As soon as Woody sees that happens he goes and tries to be that brave leader to rescue them. Then they break out of the bag and Jessey has a great idea to go to the Daycare because they will be played with there. Woody then tells them not to, he says it is a bad idea, but then Andy's mom starts the car and they are all heading to Sunnyside Daycare. Woody tries to take care of the situation but it is not possible.
In Sunnyside they meet Lotso who is the leader of the daycare. He shows that imperialistic power. The way he speaks and orders the other toys to welcome all of Andy's toys in. Lotso is the evil guy that is in control of everything in the daycare. There is nothing to stop him from being that way. That imperialistic power is also exemplified when Lotso tries to be a nice sweet bear when giving them a tour around the daycare. He shows that dictator and political power that governments show when they begin their power. Not only is he an evil antagonist that we see in any animated movie, but we also see that imperialistic and control power that he has over everybody. His imperialistic ideas make him a creator of chaos and a villain who tries to make the most out of his own power. He suffers because he was one cared and loved by his owner like most of the toys in the daycare. With this imperialistic power he takes out his anger and shows how he once suffered as an owned toy. This movie is imperialistic because both Woody and Lotso hold power over the toys either in the Daycare or in Andy's room and also wherever they go.

Yellow Journalism Today
Yellow Journalism is still used today in newspaper headlines to exaggerate a story that causes for people to be more attracted to the topic. The purpose of the news is to attract people and make them talk about this publishment. The headline for today read: "Wall Street faces biggest ever insider trading probe". When you first read this article, you think why would Wall Street let this people work here. The truth is that this has been going on for years because now they are doing a three year investigation that could expose "a culture of pervasive insider trading in U.S. financial markets". Now they are going to investigate businesses that command big fees. They will also investigate consultants, investment bankers, hedge-fund, and mutual-fund traders that don't even have to do anything with this none sense. They were trying to examine if certain traders garnered tens of millions of dollars in illegal profits. It is exaggerating for them to investigate all these innocent people. Those companies suspected traders should be investigated more but this by far has not been Wall Streets biggest ever insider trading probe because it has been going on for years.

Close the School of the Americas!!
The "School of the Americas" (SOA) has been open and operating since 1946. The United States is in charge and operating the SOA, which was originally established on Panama in 1946. Then it was moved out of the country in 1984 under the terms of the Panama Canal Treaty. The SOA has trained over 60,000 Latin American soldiers in order to overthrow corrupt governments. I believe that the U.S should not be able to operate this organization which trains people to follow the practice of coup d'etat. The organization has former graduates that have been part of some of the worst massacres, and killings in the last 59 years in Latin America. After looking and reading through the website SOA Watch, an independent organization that seeks to close the SOA, I saw that this is not a good cause after all. Why?The United is responsible for the number of innocent people that die every day all around Latin America. This school should not even be up and running, why would someone want to be trained to kill and "assassin" others that are innocent. It's more depressing and it hurts to see Colombia as one of the countries that is involved in this organization. It is wrong to destroy life's of innocent workers, educators, union organizers, and leaders that want to make their country a better place. I believe that the United States is making the lifestyle of many Latin Americans unstable and insecure. After reading "men drove in trucks, opened fire, and threw grenades indiscriminately", I saw that there is no benefits at all for this organization, and that SOA should see the numbers of people dying because of their operations. How could the so called Boss of the World operate such a school? Finally, the SOA should be definitely closed so that those innocent people are not at stake and so they can practice human rights.
